Riham Isaac has tried chasing the perfect romantic relationship that society taught her to expect. But now she finds herself running in the opposite direction.

Riham is a multi-disciplinary artist working with performance, acting, singing, music, dance, moving image, and installation. She recently co-directed The Alternativity with Danny Boyle and Banksy, and founded Art Salon, a cultural hub and open platform for artists in Beit-Sahour.

In this brand new work-in-progress, she attempts to find out why: seeking answers from the philosophers, the singers and the old Egyptian movies where she first learnt about love, hoping they can help her to heal.

A personal journey exposing the fantasies, myths and despair of intimate love, this inventive new multimedia work from one of Palestine’s most exciting contemporary artists combines comedy and grotesque, inviting us to shake off what we’ve been told to hope for so we can figure out what we really want.
