This will be the second of the Pan Talks series of talks which aim to bring together people from different backgrounds and raise awareness of the power of the arts for creating social change and generating dialogues about burning social issues.
Curated by Pan Artist and Poet, Ehireme ‘Native’ Omoaka, the evening will feature three emerging artists from the London poetry performance scene sharing their work around the theme of ‘Belonging’. There will then be an ‘Open Mic’ opportunity for members of the audience to share some of their poetry on the same subject.
The evening will conclude with a panel discussion, led by Ehireme, exploring how each poet’s work has been inspired and driven by their experiences of living in a culture that raises powerful thoughts and emotions about what it means to belong. It promises to be a thought provoking and fun evening that will appeal to anyone who has ever thought about their place in the world.
Pan Talks: Poetry Night is organised by Pan Intercultural Arts, a London based charity working across ethnic, cultural and faith boundaries to encourage understanding, integration and empowerment throughout our diverse society. We run creative workshops, community programmes and public events for those who are often not heard in society and we achieve results through the sustained process of creativity.
