In response to these remains, we devised an artist and historian in residence project for children from Thomas Buxton School. Year 5 pupils worked with MOLA Time Truck to question the changing cityscape of London’s original theatreland.

The children were given the chance to handle historic artefacts and brush up on their Shakespearean acting skills. We also partnered with Art Hoppers to create canvas banners and bunting inspired by Elizabethan motifs and ceramic money boxes inspired by the era.

The Dramatic Discoveries project was installed during the Easter 2018 PLAYHOUSE Festival. Check out what Thomas Buxton Primary School had to say about taking part in this project over on their blog.
